Murung Raya, December 17, 2025 – Murung Raya Regency in Central Kalimantan is celebrating Christmas with a special warmth, thanks to the activism of several female figures elected as members of the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD): Kabik Amaz Jasikha SE and Nisha Anggraeni SAP.
Kabik Amaz Jasikha conducted visits to various GKE (Gereja Kristen Indonesia/Indonesian Christian Church) churches in remote villages of Murung Raya Regency to celebrate Christmas with local congregations. Meanwhile, Nisha Anggraeni also actively supported Christmas celebrations in various churches across the region.
During her visit to Christmas celebrations in hard-to-reach rural areas, Kabik Amaz Jasikha shared Christmas messages and distributed beautiful gifts to Sunday School children. This brought great joy to the congregations and also brought her closer to grassroots communities as a People’s Representative.
The activities carried out by the two female figures have received appreciation from Yogyakarta Excellence Expert, Dr. Haryadi Baskoro. Despite being far from Yogyakarta, he also joined in and provided support. “What they are doing is not a publicity stunt but a form of service that supports ministry in local churches. It is very appropriate that this service touches Sunday School children, who are the future leader cadres,” he said.
Pulung Wahyu Pinto SH from HP Ministry also expressed appreciation and support. “HP Ministry is a Christian social, humanitarian, and spiritual service that supports leaders to become stronger and more active in their work. This support is holistic yet flexible, including academic and skill-based assistance,” explained Pulung, who also accompanied the Christmas Safari in Murung Raya.
As someone with experience serving as a member of the GKI Church Council in Gejayan, Yogyakarta, Pulung explained that the biblical basis for supporting leaders is taken from Exodus 17:11-12: “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.” The support from Aaron and Hur led Moses and the people of Israel to victory.
“May the joy, light, and blessings of Christmas be felt by them just as we feel them in other cities, even though congregations in Murung Raya’s simple churches still face limited road access, isolation, and distance from urban areas,” concluded the message accompanying the activity.
